One item from season 3 of the hit show brought in more than half of the total proceeds from the auction
James Van Der Beek's auction brought out some big bidders.
The actor, 48, teamed up with Propstore to offer fans a rare opportunity to take home cherished items from his personal collection in their Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, held Dec. 5–7, 2025.
The auction was a resounding success, with Propstore helping to raise over $47,000 to support the actor as he continues to navigate cancer. The actor and father of six was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer last year.
The biggest item, as predicted, was the necklace Dawson Leery gifted Joey Potter at the homecoming dance in season 3 of Dawson's Creek. The necklace, worn by Dawson until he gives it to Joey, signifies their relationship and its different iterations. The winning bid for the necklace brought in $26,628.

Another major sell at the auction was the bedroom set decorations that illustrated Dawson's love for Steven Spielberg. The items, which included a brown nylon blend E.T. stuffed toy with black acrylic eyes; an Indiana Jones figurine box from Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade with an unpainted and unassembled Indiana Jones figurine; and a dual illusion postcard, had a winning bid of $5,991.
Another big seller among the Varsity Blues was Van Der Beek's screen-worn West Canaan Coyotes Hat from his time playing Jonathan "Mox" Moxon. The hat's winning bid was $4,660.

In a statement to PEOPLE when the auction was announced last month, Van Der Beek shared, “I’ve been storing these treasures for years, waiting for the right time to do something with them, and with all of the recent unexpected twists and turns life has presented recently, it's clear that the time is now."
"While I have some nostalgia tugging at me as I part with these items, it feels good to be able to offer them through Propstore's auction to share with those who have supported my work over the years."
