Alex Cooper Reveals the ‘Hardest Part’ of Her First Trimester Pregnant

Alex Cooper opened up about the first trimester of her pregnancy in a June 3 post on Instagram

"I'm so nauseous," Cooper said in an old video from the early days of her pregnancy. "Everything sounds so disgusting"

Cooper first announced that she was expecting with husband Matt Kaplan in May

Alex Cooper is opening up about her pregnancy.

In a previously recorded video from her first trimester, the Call Her Daddy podcast host, 31, opened up about the nausea she was experiencing and how difficult it was not to share the happy news.

"I'm so nauseous," Cooper told her followers from a work trip in the clip, which she posted to Instagram on June 3. "Everything sounds so disgusting."

The only food she could consistently stomach, she added, was sour candy.

"I would also say one of the hardest parts of the first trimester is not telling anyone," she continued. "I just want to bitch — like, I just want to complain and be like, 'I'm so f---ing nauseous,' and I obviously can't say that because I'm trying not to tell anyone for as long as humanly possible."

Cooper — who first announced that she was expecting with husband Matt Kaplan in May — added that she was finding it difficult to keep her pregnancy a secret because she is "someone that likes to complain and commiserate."

"So I'm in meetings texting Matt," she said. "He'll be like, 'How are you feeling?' And I'm like, 'I'm gonna die.' And he's like, 'I love you so much babe.' "

Earlier this month, Cooper shared some of her first photos of her baby bump in a post to her Instagram, opening up about some of her pregnancy cravings in the caption.

"tell me ur preg cravings 👀 cause the donuts & in n out have been doin it 4 me," penned the internet personality.

Cooper's pregnancy announcement in May came several weeks after Bloomberg News's bombshell report about her and Kaplan's company, Trending, which alleged that Kaplan "frequently" yells at staff members, citing "people familiar with the company's operations."

The report also claimed that, while the company was producing its YouTube-original series Unwell Winter Games earlier this year, Kaplan "berated" staff on set and threatened to prevent them from ever working in Hollywood again, causing one crew member to break down in tears. (Cooper's representative has not responded to PEOPLE's request for comment about the allegations.)

At the time of the pair's pregnancy announcement, a source close to Cooper dispelled any "rumors of tension" in their marriage to PEOPLE, calling them "false."

"They're so excited about this new chapter," the source added of Cooper and Kaplan. "They've tried to hold out as long as they could before announcing."
