NFL player Bradley Chubb is married!

The Buffalo Bills linebacker, 29, married attorney Lady Mendez, 28, in Boca Raton, Florida, on Saturday, May 23. The "garden romance"-themed wedding was attended by 150 guests, including many professional football players.

Mendez raves to PEOPLE that the wedding was "romantic, elegant, love-filled, and so so much fun!" Chubb adds of the "chic" and "amazing" celebration, "Great people brought great vibes."

The festivities began with a "beach chic" welcome reception on Friday, May 22, featuring coconut drinks, a gelato cart, fire dancers and cigar rolling on the Surfside Lawn at the Beach Club at The Boca Raton. The following day, the sunlit ceremony took place in Cloister's hidden garden.

Escorted by her father, Mendez walked down a green grass aisle lined with white florals as "Can’t Help Falling in Love" played. She wore a "classic" lace Monique Lhuillier gown paired with a mantilla veil, and carried a bouquet of white anthuriums, calla lilies, and baby's breath.

"Seeing all of our friends and family turn and rise as they looked back was like a scene out of a movie," says Chubb, who walked down the aisle to John Legend's "All of Me."

The couple exchanged traditional vows atop an elevated platform in front of a wall of white roses and olive drapery. Earlier in the day, they privately shared personal, handwritten vows, and recorded the tender moment to enjoy for years to come.

The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Paul Thibodeaux, Chubb's pastor who has known him since childhood.

After they were pronounced husband and wife, Chubb and Mendez made their way back down the aisle together and stopped halfway for a dip kiss, which Mendez notes was one of her favorite wedding memories.

Cocktail hour was complete with light bites and a Florida iced seafood station of chilled jumbo shrimp, freshly shucked blue point oysters, assorted ceviche shooters, and more.

"During cocktail hour, we had a unique take on traditional escort cards," Chubb and Mendez share. "The large fountain in the center of the area was filled with greenery and white roses. Within the natural roses were ones made of paper that had tags attached to the stems with each guests’ name and table number. The guests would find their rose organized in alphabetical order and pick the flower with their name to find their table assignment."

The reception had a "romantic" and "soft" European-inspired design with a "delicate and harmonious" color palette of sage, olive, blush, ivory, cream, and dusty rose and blue. The couple shared their first dance to "At Last" by Etta James, and guests enjoyed a plated multi-course dinner.

Market salad served as the first course, followed by an intermezzo of passion fruit sorbet, and entrées of either filet mignon, organic wild salmon salmoriglio, brick-pressed chicken, or eggplant stuffed with quinoa and vegetables.

For dessert were slices of the four-tiered wedding cake, which featured two flavors: yellow marble cake with strawberry filling, and red velvet cake with cream cheese filling. Mini desserts included apple pie, berry crumble, chocolate mousse, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and more.

A live band performed songs in both English and Spanish to honor Mendez's Dominican heritage. The couple says, "We wanted to bring both cultures together as we danced the night away." The DJs for the welcome and after-parties also mixed in Latin music.

For the reception and after-party, Mendez stunned in two different dresses — a "glam and fitted" halter-neck style gown from Berta for the reception, and a floral beaded minidress with fringe from Rosie Etienne Bridal for the after-party.

The after-party took place in the Tower, which has sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and South Florida coastline. The space was transformed into a nightclub that the couple named "Club Chubb" with the name branding decked out everywhere.

Chubb and Mendez met through a mutual friend over six years ago in New York. The football player, who co-founded the nonprofit Chubb Foundation, proposed to Mendez in Florida on April 25, 2025, with a surprise drone show depicting their background and love story. Images showed their home states, a ladybug and astronaut (their nicknames), and their chocolate Labrador, Nina, before the drones spelled out, "Will You Marry Me?"

For Chubb, marriage means "Having a partner through all the phases of life that you can lean and depend on." His wife adds, "Coming together as one and knowing we will be each other’s person for life."

The newlyweds are excited to travel the world together and eventually start a family.
