Celine Dion is remembering *Beauty and the Beast** *duet partner Peabo Bryson following his death on Tuesday.
The "My Heart Will Go On" singer paid tribute to the veteran R&B singer with a picture of the pair at the American Music Awards in 1993. "I'm heartbroken to hear that we lost Peabo Bryson today. His incredible voice and kind spirit embodied the beauty of song and performance," she began.
"He was so wonderful and generous to me all those years ago, when we recorded *Beauty and the Beast*. He made me so comfortable, as I was just learning to sing in English. He will remain for me always as a real symbol of joy that music has brought to my life. His voice and his talent will be missed."
"My heart is with your family, and may you rest in peace, Peabo," Dion signed off her tribute.

Dion and Bryson sang the beloved theme song for the 1991 animated Disney movie *Beauty and the Beast*, earning an Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe. Bryson also won a Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals, sharing it with Regina Belle for the theme to *Aladdin*, another animated Disney film.
Bryson's family announced his death on June 2. The singer's rep confirmed to * *that he suffered a stroke days earlier and had been under medical care. He was 75.

“We are tremendously moved by the outpouring of love, prayers and support from fans, friends, and colleagues around the world,” Bryson's family said in a statement shared with PEOPLE.
“While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing how deeply Peabo was loved and how many lives were touched by his voice and his generous spirit. His legacy and music will live on for generations to come.”
A celebration of life and memorial for Bryson will be announced at a later date.

In 2015, Bryson spoke about the secret to a good duet, telling *Tatler Asia*, "You have to fall a little bit in love with your duet partner."
"I was very fortunate in finding a duet partner in Roberta Flack who really knew what a duet was and knew how to play to a person's strengths and weaknesses equally." Flack and Bryson sang together on the 1983 track "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love."
