Courtney Love says a Nirvana lyric from "Heart-Shaped Box" was inspired by Kim Gordon
During a recent episode of The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan, Love claimed Gordon was "horrible" in the '90s and shared stories of their tense interactions during that time

Courtney Love is saying a certain Nirvana lyric was inspired by Kim Gordon.
On Wednesday, April 1, the Hole frontwoman appeared on The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan podcast where she reminisced about what the Sonic Youth artist was like in the '90s.
"[Kim] was really horrible in the '90s. I remember in Holland I was hanging out with you, and they were so mean," Love, 61, told Billy Corgan of Sonic Youth.

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman agreed with the "Doll Parts" performer and claimed he was a fan and "came in to pay my respects and I was treated so rudely" by Gordon, now 72.
Love then claimed that a certain Nirvana lyric from "Heart-Shaped Box" was inspired by Gordon.

"You know the Kurt lyric, 'Forever in debt to your priceless advice?' That's about Kim," Love told Corgan, 59.
She continued, "That's literally about Kim and there's like he was so mad at her. Kurt's whole thing was, believe it or not he hid his light well, you know this, under a bushel for bleach because one, Seattle, which he wasn't from, two, Kim Gordon, back to pernicious indie politics."
Love claimed that she was "scarred" by Gordon.
"[I was] so scarred that I had to write her a letter kissing her ass," she claimed. "You don't go for the husband, the cool husband. You go for the wife.

Love then noted that Gordon ended up producing Hole's debut album Pretty on the Inside "to her eternal regret."

"She never came by," claimed Love. "She came by once for 10 minutes."

Reps for Gordon have not yet responded to PEOPLE's requests for comment.
Elsewhere in the podcast, Love revealed that for years she thought Marlon Brando could be her grandfather.
While she's now certain he's not (though he allegedly slept with her grandma, the novelist Paula Fox), she recalled their unsavory meeting.
“When I met him, I thought he was super repulsive and that tracked. I was like, ‘Oh, I must be related to this guy,’” said Love, noting that she was friendly with Brando’s neighbor Warren Beatty and “lobbied him” to facilitate a meeting between the pair.
According to Love, she told Beatty, now 89, she just wanted to meet Brando and didn't "want anything" from him.
"And then Warren, he said, ‘Marlon wants a note from you.’ So I wrote him a note. ‘I don’t want anything from you,’” recalled Love.
Despite giving the Oscar winner her “word," Love used Brando’s bathroom and eyed his toothbrush, knowing she could easily take it and use his DNA to uncover the truth about her lineage.
Ultimately she decided against it. "I’m glad I didn’t because it turned out he wasn’t even my grandfather, so there’s the comedy there," said Love.
