The *Euphoria* star addressed how being a parent affects his decisions in a new interview, saying that since becoming a dad, he has made changes to his lifestyle to become more present for his son.

"I just don't party like that right now. I got a son, Rocket — he's almost 2," he told Pigeons & Planes at New York City's Electric Lady Studio. "He motivates me to be stable and sober, for one, and better about that about my debauchery and stuff."

The "Babydoll" singer also spoke about how being a parent has made him think more long-term. "He makes me want to acquire property for him to grow up in," he said of Rocket. He makes me want to, like, make sure my reputation's okay so I can still go into school meetings and not have to be shunned from the PTA thingy because I'm a psycho."

Fike discussed his sobriety in a July 2023 interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe. The actor, who plays Elliot in *Euphoria*, recalled how he was almost fired from the HBO series for his drug use and for being high while filming. "I was a drug addict," he admitted, "and coming onto a show, you know, mainly about drugs was very difficult."

The show's creator, Sam Levinson, hired a "sober coach" to be on set with Fike, but it "did not work" because he was under the influence at the time.****
