Jennie Garth has addressed former costar and cohost Tori Spellingâs exit from their 90210MG podcast.
Spelling previously revealed on an Instagram Live with Brian Austin Green that she wouldnât return to the podcast.
Garth broke her silence on the matter after fans commented about the IG Live.
After days of speculation regarding actress Tori Spellingâs future on her 90210MG rewatch podcast with former Beverly Hills, 90210 costar Jennie Garth, the latter has opened up about her cohostâs exit from the popular show.
Spelling earlier said on an Instagram Live broadcast with fellow actor Brian Austin Green that she wouldnât return to 90210MG,despite the show still needing to get through an additional two seasons of 90210 recaps.
Garth addressed Spellingâs formal departure in a new installment that dropped early Friday, after fellow host Amy Sugarman gave a lengthy explanation for Spellingâs exit.
âIâm sad that sheâs not finishing this out with us. We started this together. Iâm sad about that, if Iâm honest,â Garth said, adding that she was âhappy forâ Spelling and âexcited for her to choose herself.â
Sugarman acknowledged that âTori has not been here for a bitâ and has ânot been doing the show for many reasons,â before explaining Spellingâs decision to leave.
âAbout two weeks ago, she made the decision, which Iâm sure was a very tough decision for her, but she let us know about two weeks ago that she had decided she wasnât going to continue with the podcast,â Sugarman said. âThis was 100 percent her decision. Two things can be true, we can be really bummed and disappointed that sheâs not going to do seasons 9 and 10 with us, with you, while still wanting her to be happy and to be excited about the things sheâs working on and does want to do.â
Fans initially reacted to speculation over Spellingâs departure in the comments section of a separate Instagram Reel shared by the podcastâs official account.
âWeird way to handle Tori leaving the podcast. They donât mention it on the actual podcast but she announces it on a live video with Brian [Austin Green],â one user commented. âI mean they were nice about it and encouraged people to keep listening to the podcast but if everything was completely amicable it seems like sheâd announce it on the podcast and they could wish her well and say goodbye. Instead itâs this weird thing.â
Spellingâs team did not respond to Entertainment Weeklyâs prior request for comment on the actressâ departure from the podcast.

Garth and Spelling first launched 90210MG in 2020, and sought to rewatch and review every episode of the teen drama series that ran for 10 seasons from 1990-2000.
Both actresses appeared together on every season of the Fox show, a feat shared only by cast members including the aforementioned Green, Ian Ziering, and Jason Priestley, who made a guest appearance on season 10 after his season 9 exit.
Another prominent cast member, Shannen Doherty, died in July 2024 at age 53, 30 years after she was fired from the show after season 4.

Garth previously opened up to the Armchair Expert podcast about what she called Dohertyâs âstrugglesâ before the latter left the show in 1994.
âI think there was some decisions just to be like, âF--- you, I can do what I want,ââ Garth said of her latecostar. âI was watching from the sidelines going, âWow, she really can do whatever she wants. Thatâs so cool.â

She added that Dohertyâs position was ânot easyâ at the head of the show, and called it âvery difficult to navigate. And that confusion, I think, caused some defiance or anger naturally, trying to control some things.â
