John Turturro is giving a *tur*-torial on how to properly pronounce his last name. **

The *Severance* actor, 68, took a moment to educate red carpet photographers on how to correctly say his surname while attending a special screening of his pal Kate Winslet’s new film *Goodbye June *in New York City on Monday. **

"No, it's 'Tor-*turr-*o,’” he said, making a show of rolling his r’s in a video posted by PEOPLE. “That's how you say it. You say my name right, then I'll take a picture.”

While Turturro doesn’t star in *Goodbye June*, he notified outlets in attendance that there was a reason why he was walking its red carpet. **

“I'm only doing this because I'm friends with Kate," he said, per PEOPLE.

*Goodbye June *not only marks Winslet’s directorial debut, but also her son Joe Anders’ screenwriting debut. The film sees a family forced to confront grief, reconciliation, and love as they come together to spend Christmas with their dying mother. **

The drama rounds out its cast with performances from Winslet, Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Helen Mirren, and more.

Anders is the son of Winslet and her ex-husband Sam Mendes, whom she was married to from 2003 until 2011. Winslet is also mom to actress Mia Threapleton, whom she shares with ex Jim Threapleton, and son Bear with current husband Edward Abel Smith.

While he may not make an appearance in* Goodbye June*, Turturro has been plenty busy in his own right starring as Irving Baliff on the last two seasons of Apple TV's Emmy-winning series, *Severance. *Speaking with *'s *Gerrad Hall at the 2025 Emmys, Turturro expressed his hope for his character to make a comeback in the show's upcoming third season.

“I hope that he returns with a vengeance,” he said at the time. “I think he went in there for a reason, which no one knows… I hope he returns in a very active role.” **

*Goodbye June* waves hello to theaters Dec. 12, before moving to Netflix on Dec. 24.
