West has faced backlash in recent years following antisemitic remarks he has made

Kanye West surprised the crowd at his Los Angeles concert by bringing out his daughter North.

On Wednesday, April 1, the rapper welcomed his 12-year-old daughter North on stage at his SoFi Stadium concert. The pre-teen wore blue hair in two high pigtails and big black sunglasses, singing their songs "Talking" and "Piercing on My Hand."

North added a chain necklace that featured a skull and crossbones pendant, wearing a T-shirt with her dad's name on the back. The two hugged at one point during the show.

In January, North released the first snippet of her song on her Instagram Stories, which was a collaboration with her rapper dad. The track, which was titled "Piercing on My Hand (Ye Version)," appeared to be commenting on the public outrage over North's two dermal piercings.

"Piercing on my hand, the other holding bands," North rapped in the song. "No friends, just filter, you wouldn’t understand."

"All my friends are hits, you know I’m not lazy/You’re so angry that I’m so mainstream," rapped North. "I’m not sure I’m crazy/I want more piercings and tats/I love blue hair put it in some plaits/Put the music to the max/I want like a hundred thousand racks."

The "Runaway" musician has been mired in controversy in recent years after making several antisemitic remarks. In 2022, sportswear brand Adidas ended its partnership with Yeezy after West threatened to go "death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE."

In 2025, West was sued last year by a former Yeezy employee, who alleged in a complaint that he compared himself to Hitler, threatened her because she was Jewish and fired her one day after she reported his alleged conduct to her supervisor. West was court-ordered to pay more than $76,000 of the unnamed employee's legal fees in September; the case remains on hold.

Also last year, West defended Sean "Diddy" Combs — who is currently in prison after being convicted on two prostitution-related charges in July— and posted antisemitic comments in a slur-ridden rant praising Adolf Hitler on X. He was then dropped by his talent agent, Daniel McCartney of 33&West.

In January, West wrote an open letter titled "To Those I've Hurt," which ran as a full-page advertisement (paid for by his Yeezy brand) in the Wall Street Journal. In the ad, he claimed bipolar disorder caused his erratic behavior and pivot to antisemitism.

In the letter, West claimed that his “fractured state” led him “toward the most destructive symbol I could find, the swastika.”

“I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change," West wrote in the ad. "It does not excuse what I did, though. I am not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people.”
