Meghan Markle was allegedly slammed by a celebrity chef for her phone call stunt on MasterChef Australia. Chef Jameson Stocks told The New International, via The Express, that the duchess had “no authenticity.” He slammed her for pulling such a TV stunt, adding that it was “just something cold, calculated, and pathetic.”

Furthermore, he highlighted Markle’s previous statements, in which she generally talks about privacy. However, her phone call with Prince Harry seemed to tell a different story. “She may call for privacy one day, yet the following day appear with her children for photo opportunities. She needs to get a grip,” Stocks said.

For those unversed, Markle appeared on Channel 10’s MasterChef Australia on July 26. She served as a special guest judge, tasting the contestants’ dishes. During the process, a crew member intervened, telling her, “You have a phone call to the studio.” When she held the phone, the “Suits” alum beamed and greeted, “Hi, love!” Prince Harry was on the other side of the video call.

She showed the screen to everyone, who gasped and said “hi.” Meanwhile, the Duke of Sussex asked his wife whether he “interrupted something.” While it became a highlight of the episode, fans labeled it as “cringe.” “Oh, stop that was cringe. It was a very, very obvious scheduled phone call and it made them look desperate and foolish plus it also showed what a terrible actress she actually is,” an X user tweeted.
