Sabrina Carpenter's music video "Manchild" is Grammy-nominated for Best Music Video
This is the first time Carpenter has been nominated for this category, and during the shoot, she wore 37 different outfits
On the second day of shooting, Carpenter fell onto a cactus and was picking pieces off herself for the rest of the day
For the first time ever, Sabrina Carpenter is Grammy-nominated for Best Music Video. "Manchild," Carpenter's first single release on her most recent album A Man's Best Friend, is also nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
While guest-starring on Late Night with Seth Myers on Dec. 8, Carpenter shared that the entire shoot took three days — the longest she's ever spent on a single music video. "Well, so it took two at first," Carpenter said on the show. "And then I watched the edit, and I was like, 'It's not crazy enough yet,' and it was already pretty crazy. So we went back and shot a third day."

"Manchild" was shot on a movie ranch in Santa Clarita, Calif., and the desert vibes of the shoot were the reason behind some of Carpenter's "pain."
When Myers asked her if there were any mishaps on the shoot, Carpenter responded: "I fell on a cactus. It's so easy to laugh when people get hurt and I did, but then I started crying. I just for the rest of the day was picking [bleep] out of..."
In the music video, Carpenter can be seen rollerblading down a highway while holding onto a truck, running from a firing gun and jumping into a shark-infested pool — all in different outfits, of course. In total, 37 outfits were shot for the video.
Carpenter poked fun at the wild number of outfits involved in the shoot on Instagram, captioning the post: "manchild bts take a shot every time i wear a new outfit"
She told Myers, "That shoot was so ambitious."
Regardless of the cactus incident and extended shoot time, Carpenter loves her vision behind 'Manchild' and told Myers she "couldn't believe it came to life."

"I'm so grateful to be able to make that production of my dreams, but it was definitely like we endured a lot of pain to get the finished product, so please watch it. Please watch it."
