Fans knew an Ozzy Osbourne tribute was coming as they tuned in to the 2026 Grammy Awards. And boy, did it deliver.
The Recording Academy had previously announced that Post Malone and other big names would honor the late icon in a special way during the Sunday, Feb. 1 ceremony. It wasn't confirmed, however, what exactly would be in store when the annual "In Memoriam" part of the Grammys would come around.
But once the curtain opened to show Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash holding his axe — and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith seated with sticks in hand... viewers and audience members certainly knew they were in for a treat as an instantly recognizable Black Sabbath song began.
And then, the one and only Malone, 30, stepped up to the mic to croon the lyrics to "War Pigs" in an epic way that paid homage to the heavy metal band's frontman, who died last July 22 at age 75.

During the show-stopping performance, which also featured Andrew Watt and Guns N' Roses' Duff McKagan, Ozzy's widow Sharon Osbourne and her kids Jack Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne were seen watching from the audience in tears.

Each of the musicians who jammed during the Ozzy tribute had previously collaborated with the late rocker at some point, Variety reports. Malone recorded duets with the Black Sabbath frontman on the songs “Take What You Want” and “It’s a Raid,” while Watt, 35, executive produced Osbourne’s final two albums: 2020’s “Ordinary Man” and 2022’s “Patient Number 9.” Slash, 60, featured Ozzy on the 2010 track “Crucify the Dead,” while McKagan, 61, and Smith, 64, contributed to his last records.
On Saturday, Sharon, 73, was surrounded by her children in a touching family moment as they attended Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles. On the red carpet, the family posed for photos wearing head-to-toe black in a touching gesture to honor the late rock god.
