Susan Boyle revealed she is single and prefers traditional dating over using apps like Tinder

The singer recently underwent a glamorous makeover and partnered with Cornetto for a jingle remix

Boyle shared her recovery journey after a minor stroke in 2022, including vocal lessons and speech therapy

Susan Boyle is a busy woman!

The Scottish singer, 65, opened up to The Sun about the status of her dating life and revealed that she's single — and only sort of ready to mingle.

"Who said I am getting engaged? It's too late for that," she told the outlet. "I don't have the time for a boyfriend. But watch this space."

Though Boyle said she plans to "keep going" when it comes to dating, she prefers to do it the old-fashioned way.

"I won't use anything like Tinder," she said. "The only Tinder I know is a tinderbox. I don't do that kind of cherry-picking online and I won't do that. I'd much rather find someone in a natural way."

Boyle's life changed overnight in 2009, when her stunning audition for season 3 of Britain's Got Talent went mega-viral. During the audition, she told the judges that she lived alone with her cat and had never been kissed, a confession that endeared her to audiences around the world.

In 2014, at age 53, she started dating her first boyfriend, telling The Sun at the time that he was an American doctor she'd met while staying in a hotel on tour and he was a "very nice guy."

She recently underwent a glamorous makeover as part of a partnership with the frozen dessert company Cornetto, with which she released a remix of its jingle.

Boyle released her debut album I Dreamed a Dream in 2009, which went on to become the best-selling album in the world for the year. She's released seven studio albums, most recently in 2016, and put out a compilation album titled Ten in 2019. That same year, she competed on America's Got Talent: The Champions, and finished as a finalist.

She returned to Britain's Got Talent in June 2023 to sing "I Dreamed a Dream" once more, and during her appearance she revealed that she'd suffered a minor stroke in April 2022.

"I never thought I would be able to come this far," she told The Sun. "I've had a lot of encouragement and the public have been so loving to me."

Boyle said her recovery has included vocal lessons and "a lot of" speech therapy, which was difficult at first, but eventually came easier.

"I am taking wee baby steps," she explained. "If you go too fast, too soon, you go down a hole. It took a while for my confidence to come back with my music. But I am getting there. Slowly."
