Trisha Yearwood smiled by her husband Garth Brooks's side as he was honored with RIAA's first-ever 'Artist of a Lifetime' award

The achievement acknowledges that the country singer, 64, for being recognized as the only artist in history to earn 10 Diamond album certifications

Trisha Yearwood is always thrilled to celebrate her husband Garth Brooks.

The couple, who celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in December, were all smiles as they attended theRecording Industry Association of America® (RIAA) celebration for their first-ever 'Artist of a Lifetime' award. The honor was presented to the country star, 64, who is the only artist in history to earn 10 Diamond album certifications.

The couple also got their first look at Brooks's 10 RIAA-certified Diamond albums plaque featured in the organization's DC headquarters this week. Yearwood, 60, wore a floral dress as she and her husband posed in front of the collection.

Brooks spoke at the event, sharing how he's touched by the honor. "They say that gratefulness is the seed of happiness, and I am grateful every single day to have been given this shot."

"A lot of people get the shot. But Bob Doyle told me early on that getting the shot wasn't going to be the hard part. The hard part was going to be hanging on to it," he continued.

"I can't thank God and the people enough for my life and the career I have been so lucky to have."

Brooks also performed to mark the occasion, playing a medley of his own hits and songs that have inspired his career along the way. Songs performed included James Taylor's "Carolina In My Mind"; "Fire and Rain" into "The River"; and Bob Seger's "Turn The Page."

The singer wrapped up the acoustic set with George Strait's "Amarillo By Morning" into his own classic hit "Friends in Low Places," which had the whole room singing and dancing along.
