A lot has changed for the cast of theAlaskan Bush People since the show’s end in 2022.
The reality series, which premiered on the Discovery Channel in 2014, followed the daily lives of the Brown family as they navigated the challenges that came with living remotely in the wilderness.
With each season, audiences got to know every member of the Brown family from patriarch Billy Brown to his children Matt, Bam Bam, Bear, Gabe, Noah, Snowbird, Rain and their mother, Ami Brown.
While the show’s first few seasons were initially filmed in Alaska, later seasons were set in Washington as the family grew to include grandkids, partners and more. After 14 seasons however, the reality show came to an end in 2022. Three years later, Bear announced that Matt had died after being found in a river.
Here's everything to know about what happened to the Alaskan Bush People cast after the show’s end.

Billy Brown

Billy Brown first burst onto the scene as the Brown family patriarch in Alaskan Bush People over a decade ago. The father remained a mainstay of the hit series until his death in 2021. He died at age 68 after suffering a seizure.
“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering from a seizure,” Bear announced in an Instagram post at the time. “He was our best friend — a wonderful and loving dad, granddad and husband and he will be dearly missed.”
The Brown family went on to pay tribute to their father in a season 13 episode of Alaskan Bush People titled “One Last Dance, Da.’ ”

While audiences first met Ami Brown as the mother of seven in Alaskan Bush People, the Brown family matriarch is now also a grandmother to at least 10 grandkids.
The former reality show star regularly posts snippets from her day-to-day life on social media, from scenic views to photos with her kids. After revealing that she had been diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017, Ami disclosed a year later that her cancer was in remission.
After Alaskan Bush People ended, Ami was hospitalized on more than one occasion for medical emergencies, including a health scare in February 2025. The Brown family matriarch has since her followers on Instagram with photos and videos seemingly indicating that she’s doing well.
Ami has also shared a peek into her romantic life with her partner, D.J. She hard launched the relationship in January 2026, referring to her beau as her husband.

Although Alaskan Bush People concluded with a 14th season in 2022, the Brown family’s eldest son Matt had already left the show by 2019.
The former reality star was open about his struggles with addiction for years, having gone to rehab to seek treatment twice in 2016 and 2018. He also was the subject of rape accusations in 2020 after two women came forward with assault claims against him in an interview with The Sun. The alleged assaults both occurred in 2018.
Matt did not return PEOPLE's request for comment and the network said in a statement, "Discovery Channel was approached several years ago regarding the allegations, finding them disturbing and very serious. We agreed the local authorities should be contacted immediately. Due to the nature of the accusations we felt that all cooperation would be most appropriately handled by law enforcement."
According to The Sun, the Los Angeles D.A. declined to prosecute.
After the allegations, Matt posted videos of his travels and daily life on his YouTube channel. In May 2026, Bear announced that Matt had been found dead in a river.
"Matt spent many years battling serious mental health challenges and addiction. Like countless families facing similar circumstances, we experienced periods of hope, recovery, setbacks, heartbreak, and reconciliation," Bam Bam wrote on Instagram at the time. "Matt’s life was not without mistakes, struggles, and painful chapters. Some of those chapters caused hurt, and we do not minimize that. At the same time, we do not believe any person’s life should be defined solely by their lowest moments."

Joshua Bam Bam Brown

Joshua Bam Bam Brown graduated from reality TV to pursue a career in podcasting.
The second eldest of the Brown children has been hosting the podcast Brown Overboard since 2025. On the show, he often interviews members of his family. Beyond podcasting, Bam Bam is also an actor and voice actor.
During his stint on Alaskan Bush People, it was revealed that Bam Bam had been in a long-term relationship with one of the show’s producers Allison Kagan. The pair were seemingly still together as of 2020, per The Sun.

Bear Brown

While viewers got to meet Bear Brown as Billy and Ami’s third son in Alaskan Bush People, Bear is now a father to his three sons.

The Discovery Channel star welcomed his sons River, Cove and Everest with his former wife Raiven Adams. The pair married in January 2022 and in March, the reality TV alum was arrested in connection with a domestic violence situation involving Raiven. He reportedly entered a plea deal a month later, per The Sun. PEOPLE has not been able to confirm the status and the conditions of the reported plea deal.
In April 2025, Bear and Raiven announced their split on social media.
“Raiven and I have decided to separate, we are still good friends and will be co-parenting together,” Bear announced in an Instagram post. “It's something we have been discussing for awhile, and we feel it is the best thing to do for us, and our children.”
Now, Bear frequently posts about his children and life updates on the rest of his family.

Billy and Ami’s fourth son, Gabe Brown is now a father to his own two children.
The Alaskan Bush People star married his wife, Raquell Rose, in 2019.
“I’m so happy my family, especially my mom, could be by our side on our special day,” Gabe recalled of his wedding ceremony in an interview with PEOPLE in 2019. “Raquell is my one true love and we’re really grateful to have met each other. God is good.”
The couple went on to welcome their first child, daughter Sophie, that same year before welcoming a second baby girl. In October 2025, Bear announced that Gabe and Raquell had welcomed their first son, Buck.

Noah Brown

Widely known for being the youngest of the Brown brothers, Noah Brown is now managing his own young ones as a father of two.
The Alaskan Bush People star welcomed two sons, Elijah and Adam, with his ex-wife, Rhain Alisha, before their split in 2025. The pair announced their separation in a joint TikTok post after around six years of marriage.
“We just wanted you to hear this from us, instead of from somewhere else,” Noah said in the January 2025 video. “Rhain and I have decided it is in our best interests to separate. We are going to take a break for a while and we are no longer together.”
The youngest Brown brother regularly posts updates from his life on his TikTok page, including videos with his sons and their grandmother. In January 2026, he posted a video about his new girlfriend but did not share her name.

Snowbird Brown

Billy and Ami’s first daughter, Snowbird Brown, now spends most of her time on her farm following Alaskan Bush People’s end.
The former reality star often posts updates about farm life on her social media accounts. Beyond working on the farm, Snowbird also ran an Etsy shop, SnowBirdCrafts, where she sold antique accessories and home items.
Snowbird has also kept fans on her health journey over the past few years after enduring a cancer scare in 2022. Season 14 of Alaskan Bush People documented the discovery of tumors in her abdomen and her subsequent surgery to have them removed.
In a May 2026 Instagram video, the Discovery Channel alum reassured fans that the tumors hadn’t come back and that she was staying up to date with tests to make sure all was well.

Rain Brown

The youngest of the Brown family, Rain Brown was only 11 years old when Alaskan Bush People first aired back in 2014.
Since the show’s end, Rain married her partner, Josiah Lorton. Rain first announced the couple’s relationship in a December 2023 Instagram post before confirming that the two had wed in January 2025.
“Baby, this is our world now 😘😎 yes. I’m married, y’all,” she captioned an Instagram post at the time of her and Lorton posing together.
The pair were arrested for alleged burglary in Okanogan, Wash. in April 2025. They both were charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree malicious mischief, according to booking records obtained by PEOPLE. Rain was also charged with second-degree criminal trespass.
The Alaskan Bush People star subsequently addressed the arrest in an April 19 Instagram post where she described the event as “lies” and pleaded for fans to “stick around to hear my side of the story.” Rain and Josiah both pleaded not guilty and the status of the case is unknown.
In February 2026, Ami announced that Rain and Josiah were expecting their first child, a daughter they plan to name Amethyst Grace. Bear revealed the name on TikTok.
